After my very long interview, I met up with Shufen and Xuanting for a brief catchup on things. Mostly about SF's Japan trip and XT's New Zealand. My Viet trip wasn't that fascinating but i find a chance to boost about how cheap dinning was over that. HA!

B33 gathering

I think this was abt 2weeks back...
It was the first gathering after our exams.

B33 is my first year class. We used to be very close and have many outings. But as the years passed, we sorta drifted off and some pple gradually disappear -for the better or for the worse? I would say both. We have some very strange characters in our class and that has brought much gossip, condemnation and displeasure to be in the midst of them. Even so, I would say it was these people who actually brought us normal people closer, cos we are the ones who gossip about them!


Of course, from year 1 until now, I've evolved from this terribly dressed, whining, sotong and attention-seeking gal to Erhm, a lady. I would never forget the days when everybody in B33 was sweet, fun-loving and gave me more attention and even doting on me. Those were the days. Now we have friends from our own specialisation but B33 would always be a class I treasure. My results was lousy, yes, but it was also the best time of my life. All the best to your future endeavor.

There was much rave about CHIPPY as the best takeaway in town. Had to try it! I got mine at Raffles City. And there was a queue, but it was no queue as compared to the watever dounut store nearby, freaks me out. Dounuts are the most fattening foods on earth, besides the harmless muffin you see. They are equivalent to slightly more than 1 bowl of rice.

Ok, turns out the fish i ordered is really special. Besides the littly fishy smell which is despicable, it was hot and they have some fried potatoes to go along with. Pretty much in the paper bag, fit for a meal.

After which, I had crayfish hor fun at Bugis foodcourt. Tot it would be nice. But really disappointing, and when asked how much it was, a freaking voice told me: 5.50 ah!

Melted butter is butter you have to go steam it.

The 1st successful batter. abit soggy though..

Roll it up with the tiramisu whipped cream prepared. And viola!

A sweet treat. But nevertheless empty calories...they are BIMBO! pretty, tasty but no health value..

all prices have been slashed 50 percent from mondays to saturdays, and 30 percent on sundays and public holidays! it appears to be a permanent promotion too! they also have a similar promotion for their live seafood.

I didn't watch Ocean 11 and 12. But 13 is as reviewed, many scientific antics out to show its sleekness but bring some amusement.

Had wanted to donate blood platelet. But I don't reach the minimum weight limit..

What are platelets?Platelets are the tiny blood cells that are essential for blood to clot normally

What is plateletpheresis? Plateletpheresis is a special blood donation process. It allows you to give just one blood component - platelets, the cells that help stop bleeding. There is a plentiful supply of platelets in blood and very large numbers can be donated with no ill effect.

How does plateletpheresis work?

By using sophisticated medical equipment, called blood cell separators, blood is drawn from the donor's arm into the machine. The platelets are then carefully separated by these high-tech machines. The rest of the blood, including red blood cells, is returned to the donor during the procedure.


How long does it take? Plateletpheresis takes about 60-90 minutes to complete.

Who can be a plateletpheresis donor? Any healthy person who meets the medical criteria for whole blood donation can become a plateletpheresis donor provided his/her body weight exceeds 51 kg and possesses arm veins of a suitable size.

Is plateletpheresis safe?

Plateletpheresis is very safe because only platelets are removed from the blood. All equipment that comes into direct contact with blood is disposable, ie., used only once and thrown away. Occasionally, the donor may experience a slight tingling sensation around the lips and nose or feel slightly cold during the donation but these symptoms pass quickly. A trained staff monitors the pheresis donation throughout and is there to help and answer your questions.

How often can I give platelets?

On the "Centre for Transfusion Medicine (CTM) Start Up Pheresis Programme", you can donate platelets once every four weeks, up to 12 times a year.


How can I become a plateletpheresis donor?


If you are interested in this special pheresis donation programme, please speak to a senior nurse in the Bloodbank at the Health Sciences Authority (HSA). The Bloodbank@HSA is the residential blood donation suite of CTM and it is located in the Health Sciences Authority building at 11 Outram Road. Alternatively, you may contact the CTM Pheresis Programme Coordinator at Tel: 6213 0626.


Help a cancer patient - Become a platelet donor.Some cancer patients, especially those with leukaemia, require platelet transfusion to help prevent life-threatening bleeding.

Healthy people have a tremendous reserve of platelets. The pheresis procedure can collect much larger number of platelets compared to whole blood donations. Platelets collected by pheresis reduce the chance of patients failing to respond to the platelet transfusion.

Swimming and KTV in Jurong

Darling and I went Jurong Stadium to swim. And it was very fun!
We swam, went to the lazy pool and went for the slide. Twice!




Seriously, I think i'm the only person in Jurong to scream going down the slide. It was three stories high! Ard 25seconds.



Luckily Darling comes down behind me or else I'll be so pai sey to let the person behind me noe I screamed all the way down the slide. Scary! I had jelly legs before I went down but it was shiok too. HA~

YUMMY YUMMY. For the first time i ate Crab been hoon. I didn't know it was so exp. 27dollars for our crab. Diao. Wasn't thinking, but came across this dish and haven't read such gd reviews, I really want to try it. And we try it at the 24hrs coffee shop at Jurong st 92, opposite City Harvest Church.

Seriously, I really don't know how to eat crab. Because the crab meat is stuck in the shell! I hate it. I'm sorry i've to whine but but its just inside the shell, I hate it! Luckily Baby noe how to open up to take the meat or i would only eat the been hoon, which is nice! I love sauce-soaked been hoon.

After that, Baby suggested singing at Nanyang KTV.

Ha, I didn't know we could have fun in Jurong. Right at walking distance from home. Baby is the best!

Hougang

Dar and I went to tailor his Navy uniform because he has a tea session in July.
We took the SBS bus to Hougang area to explore.
To start with, the bus has a finely designed interior! Peculiar!

We went to a coffee shop (Corner blah blah) near Hougang Mall. Everybody was eating Western food there! So we follow suit and it was sumptuous, not-that-expensive and delicious!

Dar's mixed Grill - around $7. The potato is stuffed with a piece of butter. And how it melts, and how the chicken, lamb, pork and beef sizzles.

And my Grilled fish- around $6.

3pieces of fish!

Best of all, no GST and service charge.

Joey the sister's dog doesn't whine.

Ever since I met Sky, the Weiling's dog, I discovered that dogs whine.

Joey is a dog that is highly sensitive to any sort of action seemingly like threat. He will turn into a alert galloping dog bouncing off the 2 corners of the walls, sometimes 3. Think pinball and you get what I mean.

Highly loyal dog who will follow the owner around, resting in the vicinity of the owner and sometimes causing a live obstacle and fear of stepping on him.

Able to communicate threats by barking and bitting unfriendly people. But would not bite any known people after sayanging him.

Unidentifed breed becos of unknown background. Suspected cross btwn pooder and maltese.

For the same reason of adoring Joey, I like Welsh Corgi!!!!!!!! I want to own one...

Went to HSA to donate blood alone. Used my food voucher to collect my muffin and crysanthemum tea. Can you spot the floating ant?


Never mind, I was too hungry....

There is a need for blood platelets for dengue fever victims at HSA as well. I think I'm not at the best of health to donate. But I might try next time. Think of the victims!

horror of horrest..

had a trauma with Storm personnel becos the creative director (2nd grade stylist actually) did my hair wrongly. He also bluffed me its 2hrs..when it turned out 4.

Turned out I had straight hair for 2days...Saddening...

and then..I went back for another 2hrs + hrs...he bluffed me 1hr +... and I got my curls back...Thank God...

Had read through http://www.jodelibakery.netfirms.com/ recipes for the umpteen time. The hobbies during the pre-exam days were lotsa reading and watching videos on cooking, sometimes I surf on fashion or anything in mind.

Before I made this pumpkin cake, Ive already visualised the whole process and revisited the scenerios a few times in the head. A bit mad la...haha

The texture turned out fine, the 1st attempt, a bit tasteless though. I had thought the natural ingredients were enough kick.

I brought over to Dar's house and his mother pan fried it. Made it quite yummy but I prefer it less oily. Hope the parents don't find it too bad.

My Mummy made me do it a 2nd time.

And it turned out delicious. Wanted to invite Weiling to taste but finished pretty fast. Next time then! Would have to wait pretty long though...going to try making other foods first!
