Art institute of Chicago

It's amazing how much emotions some of the art pieces stirred up inside me. The paintings are so intriguing and enigmatic I felt I a sense of emotional release cos I know the artists were having the same disturbance as I once did. Depending on how you connected with van Gogh, Claude Monet or Picasso I felt emotionally enriched understanding myself and them through their art pieces. Strange but true.

Some paintings are humorous, some beautifully and skillfully drawn and painted, some, like van Gonh's freaked me out; not sure if it's becos I already knew he had hallucinations and admitted to the asylum later. Some of the drawings had randomly disconnected components and I especially like that as it shows the bleak and astute environment of ours

I like the impressionist period. Going back to earlier times where they do darker gothic paintings bore me now I've seen a lot of that in Washington dc ; its fantastic in the smithsonian museums but I realize the impressionist paintings speak to me so much that I want to pick up a paint brush to express to you how I'm feeling too!
